Weaving Draft of a Coppergate Textile Find

I thought I would post this now but I’m still looking for the book the original came from, so this page is a work in progress.

This is an old draft of one of the textile samples (image 2) from the Coppergate textile finds in York.  The original image was given to me (by Margo) and found in: Walton- Rogers, Penelope. “Textiles, Cordage and Raw Fibre from 16-22 Coppergate”. The Archaeology of York: The Small Finds, Vol. 17 fasc. 5, (London, 1989)

and now my attempt at a draft of this pattern.  Scale will depend on the size of the fiber used….I’m still in need of more information about the original so I can weave a sample.

NEW: My latest on this can be found here: LINK
