In the process of putting together a professional portfolio I came across an old project that I started back in Chicago. I was working on a weaving draft of a textile find from the Coppergate archaeological digs in York. I never wove any of it up but I would like to do so. I’ve now got to find the original book the image came from and learn more about the original so I can weave an approximation. Why an approximation? Well stuff changes in the ground and while I hope the book has the chemical analysis to tell me what colors/dyes were used it is often hard to tell just by looking. Fiber type, ya, we can usually figure that out but color is harder. I have high hopes for the source anyway. Another thing for the list of projects after January.
